The Ambience of Tentrem Resort -Yogyakarta

 

Setelah sekian lama blog yang saya desain dari awal ini karena migrasi ke wordpress, saya putuskan blog yang saya desain awalnya untuk menumpahkan segala petualangan knowledge explorer, diubah menjadi blog catatan pribadi saya dan keluarga saja. Berharap nantinya bisa diteruskan oleh anak-anak saya menjadi sebuah catatan keluarga yang bisa diteruskan turun temurun sepanjang abad...hehehe...kenapa tidak...!!! 

Nah, kali ini kita melipir ke yogyakarta, yang dulunya merupakan tempat istri saya, Santy Setiawan menyelesaikan studi program magister sains akuntansinya di UGM. Kali ini pun kita ke sini dalam rangka menunaikan kewajiban akademis dia yang harus presentasi karya ilmiahnya dalam sebuah forum seminar nasional yang diselenggarakan oleh ACFE, sebuah institusi internasional untuk audit keuangan.

Dan sekaligus juga menjadi sebuah short escape buat kami sekeluarga. Alhasil saya sendiri kali ini benar-benar menjadi pelancong murni bersama anak-anak tercinta.

Usul dari istri untuk bermalam, kita coba hotel Tentrem yang katanya bagus dan pernah dikunjungi oleh Barack Obama sewaktu melawat ke Indonesia, beliau adalah Presiden USA yang pernah dibesarkan di Indonesia.

Ambience yang unik begitu memasuki hotel ini memang langsung terasa. Aroma herbal dan jejamuan langsung menyambut kami di lobby dan saat check in kita ditawari welcome drink unik...minuman beras kencur dan kunyit asam...belum pernah di hotel lain ada yang begini..(hotel ini memang salah satu anak perusahaan Sido Muncul produsen jejamuan Indonesia)

Selain itu keunikan lainnya selain desain interior yang cukup...elegan..untuk ukuran Yogyakarta, baru kali ini kita melihat ada Kids Play Area Indoor yang cukup besar dalam sebuah hotel mandiri. Alhasil ini bikin anak-anak makin susah diajak jalan keluar...hahaha...

Guangzhou TV Tower - menara tertinggi di dunia. Dibangun pada tahun 2005-2010 oleh Arup untuk Asian Games pada tahun 2010. Tinggi menara ini 610 meter. Untuk ketinggian 450 meter dari menara ini dibangun kombinasi dari retina yang bercahaya membawa hyperboloid dengan inti pusat.

Skardu Valley – Pakistan

Skardu Valley is part of the Baltistan. Baltistan is spread over an area of 26,000 square kilometres – just right below the jagged and glaciated ramparts of the Karakoram. Once part of Laddakh, it was known as Tibet-i-Khurd – Little Tibet. Archaeological exploration has proven that it was encompassed by the Silk Trade Route.

Machu Picchu, Peru
Machu Picchu in Peru, which means ‘Old Peak,” is one of the most enigmatic ancient sites in the world. According to legend, Machu Picchu was long ago considered to be a sacred place. The credit for the creation of the extraordinary city goes to the Inca people who have erected many stone structures and turned the place into a work of art.




Two thousand feet above the Urubamba river, these ruins consist of baths, temples, palaces, and about 150 houses, all very well preserved. These gray granite structures, some of which weigh more than 50 tons, are so perfectly sculpted that they are nothing less than works of architectural genius. They were rediscovered by a Yale archaeologist in 1911. The ethereal beauty, workmanship, and history of the place attracts millions of tourists each year.
Petra, Jordan
Described by the UNESCO as “one of the most precious cultural properties of man’s cultural heritage”, Petra is an archeological site on the slope of Mount Hor. It is one of the new wonders of the world and is famous for its rock-cut architecture.




This site was kept hidden until 1812 when it was discovered by a Swiss explorer. It was said to have been prepared by God for the Jewish people. Petra once flourished under the Roman empire but a rapid decline began with the Arabian trade being taken elsewhere. Then an earthquake caused a great deal of destruction. Tourists frequent the place to get a glimpse of the ruins of this beautiful city.
